This is the website of NORDIK – The Nordic Association for Art Historians r.y. Since 1984, NORDIK has been a forum which brings together individual scholars and organizations who has an interest in Scandinavian art history. Anyone who shares our interest is welcome to join the association. One of the key tasks of NORDIK is to organize a triennial art historical conference.

The NORDIK 2025 conference “Why so Nordic? The ‘Nordic’ as fact and fiction in art history” takes place in Helsinki 20–22.10.2025. The conference is organized in collaboration with University of Helsinki (Faculty of Arts, Department of Cultures, Art History). In March 2025 NORDIK launched the “NORDIK newsletter”. In the newsletter we will share information about noteworthy exhibitions, recent publications and current call for papers and conference announcements. It is published four times a year and members of the association will receive it by email.
